Victoria Lead Counseling Intensive Hi, I'm Victoria. TSC lead Counseling Intensive Counselor. I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 8 years of experience. I have been providing intensive to our community for over two years and have loved seeing the rapid transformation and healing the families I have worked with have experienced. I can't wait for you to start your intensive counseling journey here with us at TSC.

What is a Counseling Intensive?
Counseling Intensives are longer therapy sessions. They often target a specific issue, such as significant trauma, intensive anxiety, or grief, but they can also help with other problems. Extended therapy times intend to accelerate your recovery. They are often one-on-one and tailored to your needs.

Weekly Therapy Cycle Below

Weekly Therapy Cycle

The traditional therapy setting of one time a week for 45 to 50 minutes is not nearly enough to go deep with a person who wants to heal from past hurts and trauma and feel better faster rather than 5 to 10 years later.

TSC Counseling Intensives
At TSC, we provide one-on-one, family-intensive, and small-group intensives. Our one-on-one intensive is individually tailored to meet your needs and may range from 1 full day (8 hours) to 5 days back (Monday through Friday, 8 hours each day) to 3 hours once a week for a set number of weeks. Small group or family intensives are for 3-6 individuals who will meet to work through a specific issue during that time. Family intensives are individually tailored to meet that family's particular needs. Small Group intensives are designed to address specific problems, for example, issues such as childhood trauma from abuse, and have designated meeting times and or dates. They are offered a limited number of times throughout the year.

How Do I Choose Between Regular Talk Therapy or Counseling Intensives?

Suppose you find yourself in a situation where you feel stuck, whether in your day-to-day activities or therapy sessions. If you have left, like any of the following:

  • Felt you are ready to take charge of your life and face traumatic events in your past.
  • You're tired of being tired from the past keeping you from living freely in the present
  • You don't have time to attend weekly therapy sessions for 6 months or more.

  • Anxiety, trauma, depression, and other symptoms are increasingly affecting your daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can my child(ren) participate in a Counseling Intensive:

If your child is 14 or older, they can join in a Counseling intensive. Counseling intensives for teens typically are scheduled during the summer months. You may prepare your teen intensive for the summer, starting in January of every year. Teen intensives are limited and fill up fast.

Can I bring a loved one with me?

Yes, you can bring one other individual as support during your intensive.

Would you be able to do an intensive counseling session with a partner?

An intensive can be done with a partner at the same rate for the day. Families who have experienced trauma together may also participate at the same rate but require extra processing time or days, depending on each family's need.

Can Intensives be done online?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis and only for those who reside in the state of Tennessee. Intensives online are designed with the same schedule as an in-office session. Booking your brainspotting intensives online allows you to process traumas or anxiety in the comfort of your home. Counseling-intensive rates are the same as in-office rates.

↓Group Counseling Intensives

A group intensive is one day or up to 5 days with 5-8 people at a time. Intensive groups can also be 3 hours per week over 6- to 8-week. Currently, these groups are done virtually in the comfort of your home.

Why Should I Participate in a Group  Intensive?

Similar to the benefits of group therapy, you get to process your issues with people who are committed to healing you. But you get to process together for 6 hours per day. Participating in a group intensive can make intensive more affordable and accessible.

Group Brainspotting intensives range from 1-day commitments to 5-day commitments.  Brainspotting groups can also be 3 hours per week over 6- to 8-week.
